Thorner’s also has a connected charity, the Reardon Samaritan Fund.  This was following a bequest left to Thorner’s Charity by Miss Ellen Reardon in the name of her Father, Mother and Sister, Miss Margaret Reardon.  Please see our history page for more information on Miss Reardon.

We are also a Social Housing Provider registered with the Regulator of Social Housing. Our registration number is 5111. We have been registered providers since at least 1975.

The Regulator of Social Housing regulates registered providers of social housing to promote a viable, efficient and well-governed social housing sector able to deliver homes that meet a range of needs.

We are also members of the Almshouse Association, a body that today is an essential component of the almshouse movement. They provide support, information and guidance on a broad range of general and specific issues, to over 1600 independent almshouse member charities that provide around 35,000 dwellings across the United Kingdom. If you are searching for us, because we are referred to in a persons Will, firstly thank you. We can confirm that Thorner’s Homes with the registration no 1189291 is the successor charity to Thorner’s Homes or the Trustees of Thorner’s Homes with a charity number of 220735 or indeed Thorner’s Charity (pre 1968). The Charity Commission can confirm this.
